After a decade of existence and a two billion dollar expenditure a bill is proceeding through Parliament that will end the registration of long guns. The experiment has been an unqualified failure! Administrative cops (Assoc. of Police Chiefs) like it but many others damn it as a waste of resources.

What we are keeping is personal licensing based on a clean record and passing national levels of firearms training. This is reasonable gun control that does contribute to public safety. Do your homework and you too will see that registration is a non-starter. We have registered handguns for 75 years and said registration has not produced one solved crime! Doing the same thing over and over with the same result while expecting another is the definition of insanity. Don't allow the emotional rhetoric and propaganda of the anti-firearms folks to replace science and reason. The Liberal Party of Canada did but now a clear majority of Canadians want to see the long gun registry ended. The Bill C-391 has passed 2nd reading and is in Committee. The final steps are Senate ratification and passing by Parliament.Reynaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04792640749113366013noreply@blogger.com
